Position Description:
This is a junior-level role within Lenovo’s Global Digital Transformation Organization. The successful candidate will contribute to the transformation of business processes by supporting the implementation and optimization of EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) workflows, with a focus on EDIFACT standards.
This global position is ideal for a self-motivated business process analyst with foundational experience or strong interest in B2B data exchange, cloud-based integration platforms, and ERP systems such as SAP ECC or S/4HANA. The analyst will work across sales and customer data domains to ensure seamless and standardized data exchange with global trading partners.
In addition, the candidate will be expected to explore and support the use of AI technologies to enhance EDI operations—such as using machine learning for anomaly detection in transaction flows, automating exception handling, and improving data quality through intelligent validation techniques.
Position Requirements:
This is a junior position with opportunities for development. The analyst will work under the guidance of senior leads and will be responsible for supporting transformation requirements from corporate and regional business units. The role includes assisting in the planning, implementation, and support of EDI processes and tools.
Key Responsibilities:
Support EDI Process Development:
Assist in analyzing and documenting current EDIFACT-based EDI processes (e.g., ORDERS, INVOIC, DESADV). Participate in identifying areas for improvement and standardization. Partner Integration Assistance:
Help onboard new trading partners by supporting EDI mapping, testing, and validation activities. Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure successful data exchange. Tool & Platform Evaluation:
Learn and support the use of EDI middleware platforms (e.g., SAP PI/PO, Seeburger, IBM Sterling). Assist in evaluating platform performance and suggesting improvements. AI-Driven Enhancements:
Investigate the implementation of AI-based tools for:
Data Reporting & Monitoring:
Contribute to the development of dashboards and reports to monitor EDI transaction flows and exceptions. Training & Documentation:
Assist in creating user guides, process documentation, and training materials. Support internal education efforts around EDI processes and tools.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, or related field.1–3 years of experience in business process analysis, data integration, or EDI support (internships or academic projects acceptable).Familiarity with EDIFACT message types and EDI concepts is a plus.Exposure to ERP systems (e.g., SAP ECC/S4HANA) and cloud-based integration tools is preferred.Basic understanding of Agile or ASAP methodologies.Interest or foundational knowledge in AI/ML applications, especially in data validation, anomaly detection, or automation.Experience with tools such as Python, Power BI, or AI platformsStrong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work collaboratively in a matrixed, global team environment.
