Sales Coordinator

PURPOSE

The National Sales Coordinator plays a pivotal role in connecting the activities of the National Strategic Account Managers to the field leadership team.  This is accomplished in two key ways:  1. By gathering key intelligence from National Accounts from the Strategic Account Managers and communicating it down to the field and 2. By gathering local market intel from field leaders and communicating it up to the National Account team by customer.

 

Create Regional communication plans to best communicate National Sales activities to the appropriate field leaders like SVP, Regional Sales Manager, Area Manager/VP, and Sales Manager with a focus on prioritizing urgent vs important and an emphasis around connecting National Builders to the local leadership teams.  Facilitate communication on agreements, contracts, and programs to the local markets. Be curious and develop relationships with local sales leaders to gather intel which will assist the National Sales team and help with removing obstacles locally.  Learn and be aware of market-specific products and services to avoid a one size-fits-all approach.  

 

This role plays a pivotal role in maximizing our market share and wallet share by supporting the Strategic Account Managers on the national builder accounts which they are assigned.  This role is responsible for assisting the Strategic Account Managers in improving strategic relationships throughout the National Builder’s organization and utilizing those relationships to uncover needs which we can fill with our products, services, processes, and designs to establish a differentiated BFS value proposition.  Responsible for supporting the strategic management of portfolio volume and brand growth within a defined account base. And business development procedures.

 

Reports to the VP, Sales Operations assigned supervisor.  Works closely with VP, Sales & Innovation and the National Strategic Account Managers to drive execution on strategic initiatives with key builders to the field.  Partners with Corporate resources like Supply Chain, Credit, and Marketing to help facilitate these initiatives. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Develop and execute a strategic plan to maximize market share and wallet share with key strategic national builder accounts.  Utilize the Engage Salesforce CRM platform to identify opportunities and track progress. Establish and maintain relationships with decision-makers. Collaborate and communicate with our Regions and Areas to identify targets and close deals Act as a primary national point of contact and respond timely to customer requests. Take responsibility for bid management and follow-up with customers on share gain opportunities Demonstrate a deep understanding of our products and services across our US businesses Communicate with Supply Chain to develop efficient demand planning to drive value for both BFS and our customer. Performance Metrics Achievement of sales targets and quotas. Market & Wallet Share gain and loss with key strategic national builder accounts. Successful implementation of manufacturer supply programs like siding, windows, OSB, MW Customer satisfaction and retention rates. Market insights and feedback provided. Effective relationship management with strategic national builder accounts. Review progress to goal against chain programming with applicable distributors; utilize programming and other mechanisms within budget to stay on track to goal. Continually review sales against established goals to ensure performance to plan. Achieve sales plans by developing, cultivating, and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and leverage relationships to explore new business opportunities and additional programming. Conduct profitability analysis by account. Other duties as assigned by manager.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university preferred Or a combination of education and experience. Some travel to meet with clients and attend industry events. 5% Proven experience in sales and account management, preferably in the construction or building materials industry. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Solid verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in using the Engage Salesforce CRM platform and other sales tools is preferred Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.). Experience addressing strategic issues as well as day-to-day operational concerns. Working knowledge of the national account business model including pricing, programming, program execution, and inventory management; exceptional organizational skills, a positive and problem-solving attitude Strong work ethic with the ability to change gears and work efficiently.
