Sales Consultant Oncology - Portland, OR
As an Oncology Sales Consultant, you are responsible for driving the clinical demand, education, and sale of multiple Oncology products to Medical Oncologists, Urologists, Radiation Oncologists, including mid-level healthcare professionals (NPs/PAs) within Oncology and Urology specialties. You will work within institutions, including academic and community hospitals, cancer centers, free-standing community clinics, and treatment centers.
This position will cover the Portland, Salem, and Eugene Oregon territory. Please only apply if you are currently in the geography or plan on relocating in the near future.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrate competency in product clinical efficacy and articulate a strong value proposition for customers;Learn and retain in-depth clinical knowledge of numerous tumor types to educate Healthcare Professionals on the benefits of Bayer medications;Build key office relationships and solicit customer inputs to ensure account needs are met;Positively influence accounts by understanding customer needs/preferences and tailoring messaging accordingly;Strive to deliver sales goals by exploring growth opportunities and reshaping sales strategy based on insights;Review sales data, assess trends, and adjust sales strategy to improve performance;Leverage resources, market data, and sales experience to prepare for account conversations;Address account/marketplace uncertainties by maintaining a flexible mindset and leveraging peers for business perspective;Build networks and connections by involving cross-functional stakeholders and establishing best practices;Adopt emerging technologies to increase performance and gain proficiency;Commit to learning agility by reflecting on past experiences and learning from peers;Target, develop, assess, and maintain a thorough understanding of accounts and key customers;Apply strategic thinking in developing and maintaining key customer databases;Demonstrate competency in key account management and selling skills;Liaise with Bayer personnel to provide patient and reimbursement support while exceeding sales goals;Develop business plans aligned with strategic brand imperatives for strong business results;Foster strong positive relationships with healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders;Collaborate and work effectively in teams with internal and external stakeholders;Develop a long-term institutional sales approach to activate accounts via various influencers;Adhere to company guidelines, policies, and procedures;Embrace Bayer LIFE values of Leadership, Integrity, Flexibility, and Efficiency.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
BA/BS required, preferably in biological science or related discipline;Minimum of 5 years of pharmaceutical, biotech, medical selling experience, or relevant clinical or marketing experience preferred; specialty experience in Oncology, Cardiovascular, Endocrinology, or Diagnostics is preferred;Strong clinical expertise in various tumor types (e.g., Prostate, CRC, Lung, GIST, Sarcoma, Niche Tumors) is preferred;Ability to sell in pediatric and adult oncology settings is preferred;Experience launching new products and/or indications is preferred;Experience selling a product in combination with a companion diagnostic;Diagnostic or experience selling diagnostic/genomic testing is preferred;Academic institution or large oncology account selling and relationships are a plus;Familiarity with immunohistochemistry or next generation sequencing is preferred;Scientific background and understanding of clinical trials is preferred;Excellent negotiation skills required;Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required;Ability to travel as necessary, including overnight and/or weekend travel;Excellent written and oral communication skills required;Strong cross-functional collaboration skills required;Passionate and self-motivated individual;Ability to comply with customer credentialing and safety requirements (e.g., up-to-date vaccinations, trainings);Newly hired employees may be subject to further credentialing as a condition of employment.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $155,771.20 – $233,656.80Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc..
This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
