Position Summary:

The Sales Associate plays a key role in generating new business opportunities and managing customer relationships within the aerospace and advanced manufacturing sectors. This position requires a mix of technical understanding, relationship building, and proactive communication to meet customer needs and support the company’s long-term growth goals.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Customer Relationship Management

Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accountsBuild and maintain strong relationships with aerospace OEMs and subcontractorsProvide timely, accurate responses to RFQs, order status, and technical inquiries

Sales and Quoting

Prepare and present quotes using technical drawings, specs, and internal cost dataReview material and forging requirements to ensure accurate pricing and lead timesFollow up on open quotes and negotiate terms within company guidelines

Business Development

Identify new opportunities in aerospace, defense, and energy sectorsResearch industry trends and competitor activityAttend trade shows and industry events to represent the company and generate leads

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work with engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure feasibility and manufacturability of customer requirementsCoordinate with purchasing and planning to confirm material availability and production capacity

Administrative Duties

Maintain customer information and sales activity in CRM system (e.g., Salesforce or equivalent)Generate weekly/monthly reports on sales performance, pipeline activity, and forecast accuracyEnsure all documentation complies with export control and customer requirements

Required Skills:

Strong knowledge of industrial/manufacturing processes, particularly in metal forging or aerospace componentsExcellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and executive-level discussionsAttention to detail in reviewing engineering drawings and specificationsAbility to multi-task and manage competing deadlines under minimal supervisionStrong negotiation and customer service abilitiesProficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and familiarity with ERP/CRM softwareKnowledge of aerospace industry standards and certifications (e.g., AS9100, NADCAP) is a plusMust be comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly technical environment

Experience & Education

Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or two to five years related experience and/or training experience in Sales, Business, Engineering, or related field.1+ years of related experience in a manufacturing environment1–3+ years of experience in technical sales, account management, or customer service within a manufacturing or aerospace companyExperience with forged metal components, raw materials (titanium, nickel alloys), or conversion services strongly preferredFamiliarity with ITAR and export regulations a plus
