Your Title: Sales Application Engineer (Survey & Civil)

Job Location: Australia - Brisbane, or AU Remote (East Coast)

What You Will Do

As our Sales Application Engineer, you'll proactively identify and support opportunities to grow our Trimble Field Systems products and services in the survey and civil engineering industries. You’ll work closely with distributor management and sales teams, providing them with product and solution training, assisting with demonstrations, and offering pre-sale support with your technical expertise and consultative advice.

You'll also play an active role in new product releases, beta cycles, and tackling complex product performance issues. Additionally, you'll provide insights on competitive products and evaluate market potential across all served markets and solutions.

What You’ll Be Doing

Optimize the performance of our dealer network to ensure Trimble’s strategies are successfully implemented. 

Contribute to sustainable financial results and be an integral team member supporting Trimble's overall success. Work with the dealer network to achieve short, mid, and long-term objectives.

Actively participate in resolving complex product performance issues, assist in key customer engagements, demonstrations, and presentations. 

Train dealer sales and technical staff to be proficient in sales, installation, and support of our product portfolios. 

Participate in trade shows, road shows, and user group events.

Develop local partner sales and technical support personnel to demonstrate, sell, and support new technology products. This includes preparing tender documents and specifications. Provide recommendations on product configurations, part numbers, and options to suit customer needs and applications.

Stay updated on the latest Trimble technology and proactively seek training to maintain "early adopter" knowledge. 

Stay informed about competitive offerings and macro and microeconomic trends that impact performance. 

Respond to escalated technical issues from dealers to ensure sales closure. 

Participate in quarterly reports and weekly forecasting and business update meetings.

 

What Skills & Experience You Should Bring

Other attributes and experience you should bring are:

Strong aptitude in civil construction and survey techniques with demonstrated technical capability in surveying equipment and machine control

Competent understanding of construction survey methodologies, tools, and software

Excellent customer interaction experience within the construction environment

Fundamental selling skills

Sound listener to diverse audiences

Sense of urgency and drive, highly motivated

The drive, passion, and work ethic that will allow you to succeed in a very autonomous environment

A team player who is solution-driven with the ability to multitask effectively. Ability to make sound decisions based on customer needs and technical knowledge. Ability to prioritize competing tasks

Excellent English language skills - written and oral are essential. 

 

Information About Your Location

This position is available on a fully remote basis from within Australia on the East Coast. If you are Brisbane-based, we do have an office you could work from if preferred. Frequent travel (Up to 50%) across mainly Australia, and occasionally New Zealand, will be required. You should therefore be willing and able to travel (a clean driver’s license and a current passport are required).
