Position Overview

Shaw Industries is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to serve as the Safety and Training Manager for Plant 34 and Plant 41/Complex. This combined role will lead both the development and execution of training systems and the oversight of plant-level EHS compliance and culture. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader who can drive performance, ensure regulatory compliance, and build a culture of continuous improvement and safety.

Responsibilities

Directly manage HR trainers at both locations and have responsibility for all training requirements.  Ensure that all associate training meets the Environmental Handbook, SAFE Handbook, and OSHA requirements.  Management System (SMS) within the facility.  Lead annual internal audits to monitor conformance to EHS requirements and to drive continuous improvement.   Serve as the liaison between facility management, EHS Divisional and Corporate Risk Ensure effective EHS programs are in place and that all necessary training is being conducted.  Ensure records are maintained to comply with SAFE, OSHA, and SQS standards.  Prepare and distribute safety incident updates weekly.  Analyze safety data & conduct incident/process root cause analysis to facilitate hazard reduction.  Conduct routine EHS and system audits to ensure compliance and support continuous improvement. Report any concerns to appropriate facility and divisional resources Chair the Safety Steering Committee (SSC)  Coordinates PEO Team  Ensure the SAFE programs are current and train management when changes occur.  Coordinates and manages the shipment and storage of all non-hazardous and hazardous waste streams.   

   

Qualifications

3+ years of experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment 4 yr degree (EHS focus preferred)1+ years of team management experience  Ability to work various shifts and weekends as needed  Exceptional listening, interpersonal, and organizational skillsProficient in Microsoft Applications, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
