The Safety Supervisor is responsible for operating, coordinating, and monitoring all activities related to occupational health and safety, emergency preparedness, and environmental protection. This role ensures compliance with applicable legislation and internal procedures, while proactively identifying risks and implementing preventive measures to maintain a safe and sustainable working environment.
**WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:**
+ Operate and maintain the Occupational Health and Safety Management System in accordance with Law 319/2006 and applicable norms.
+ Conduct risk assessments and develop prevention and protection plans tailored to the specific activities and risks of the organization.
+ Draft and update internal safety instructions based on work processes, employee numbers, and identified risks of accidents and occupational illnesses.
+ Monitor compliance with safety legislation and internal procedures, including fire prevention and emergency protocols.
+ Train and document the safety education of all personnel, maintaining accurate records of on-the-job training.
+ Supervise workplace safety, ensuring that all employees work in accordance with their training and do not expose themselves to injury or occupational illness.
+ Report any hazardous situations or deficiencies in protection systems immediately to the employer or designated personnel.
+ Collaborate with labor inspectors and health authorities to implement required safety measures and ensure a risk-free working environment.
+ Ensure that safety devices on machinery, equipment, and installations are used correctly and not modified or removed arbitrarily.
+ Collaborate with all departments and employees on occupational safety and health (OSH) matters.
+ Maintain active communication with external partners and authorities, including:
+ Territorial Labor Inspectorate (ITM)
+ Occupational Health Services
+ Public Health Department
+ Emergency Services Providers
+ External prevention and protection services
+ Suppliers of safety equipment and materials
+ Environmental Guard and other state institutions responsible for environmental oversight
+ Support inspections, audits, and implementation of corrective actions as required by external authorities.
**YOU HAVE:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
+ Certification as a Safety Responsible (authorized under Romanian law).
+ Strong knowledge of Romanian OSH and environmental legislation.
+ Experience in risk assessment, safety audits, and emergency planning.
+ Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external authorities.
+ Proficiency in safety management systems and documentation tools.
+ Fluent Romanian & English.
