What you will be doing: 

Actively engage in the prevention and control of industrial accidents in a supply chain environment. Assist in ascertaining data to help identify contributing factors for injury prevention. Analyze accident facts that impact injury severity and their related costs. 

 

Main responsibilities:

Primary Job Functions:  
*Provide initial and continued training to new associates regarding safety policies, life safety procedures, safety culture, and other safety programs. Determine the appropriate additional or renewed training, considering changes in operation, modernization regarding new exposures, accident histories, and any associate returning from an extended absence.  
*Educate and support operations in accident investigation techniques.  
*Monitor accuracy of OSHA log.  
*Communicate with all levels of management regarding risk control information: workers compensation dollars, injury on job (IOJ) rates, injury investigation, and any safety related topics.  
*Assist in the adoption of standardized "Best Practices" to optimize safety. Coordinate all safety efforts with the Risk Control Manager and participate with all departments within the complex.  
*Adherence to the Risk Control Action Plan (RCAP), practices, policies, and procedures that cover a wide range of company & regulatory agency required activity.  
*Participate in supply chain staff and safety meetings.  
*Implement risk control initiatives which include ergonomic observations, approved practices, data analysis, metrics analyses, and items in the (RCAP).  
  

Secondary Job Functions: (These are considered occasional in nature)  
*Create and / or modify presentations and training materials to ensure that such information is current and relevant to the subject being taught and to the audience.  
*Prepare or assist in IOJ tracking reports (OSHA, DART, Lost Time Rates, etc.)  
*Help develop and review accident statistical reports to focus efforts on injury prevention, trends, and corrective actions, which include engineering, ergonomic and / or administrative control.  
*Maintain an excellent working relationship with in-house medical personnel and Concentra Medical Centers.  
*Maintain contact with injured associates providing them with information to help them through the work comp process as needed.  
*Maintain records, organize meetings, and support behavior-based management techniques.  
 

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

Skills And Abilities Required to Perform Job  
*Bachelor's degree in Safety or a closely related field and/or previous experience in safety/loss control preferred. Previous training and auditing experience are preferred. Familiarity with warehousing operations is helpful. Working knowledge of regulatory standards (OSHA) is preferred.  
*Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other Office programs.  
*Possess ability to motivate others to achieve desired results. Deal effectively with a wide variety of associates.  
*Public speaking to groups of various sizes.  
*Possess effective communication skills, both written and verbal.  
*Analytical ability and mental alertness required to ensure accurate and thorough completion of work activities, data interpretation, and analysis. Ability to concentrate and deal with frequent interruptions.  
*Incumbent must be self-motivating with the drive, energy, and desire to become involved in the accident prevention process and incident investigation.  
*Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.

Pay transparency language (if applicable)

Pay Rate: $75,000 - $80,000 annually. Starting rates may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Dependent on length of service, hours worked and any applicable collective bargaining agreement, benefits may include healthcare, PTO/Vacation pay and retirement benefits (401(k) eligibility).
