Safety Specialist
TalentWorld is hiring a Safety Specialist for a leading distribution center in Brampton. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly respected organization where safety is not just a policy—it's a core value.

In this hands-on role, you'll support the implementation of safety programs, lead incident investigations, deliver engaging training, and champion regulatory compliance. Your ability to collaborate across departments while maintaining a calm and solutions-oriented approach will make a meaningful impact on employee well-being and operational excellence.

Safety Specialist Responsibilities: Conduct workplace hazard assessments and collaborate with leadership to develop and implement mitigation strategies Identify safety risks and recommend innovative prevention measures and process improvements Track, report, and monitor safety KPIs using a safety management system Lead investigations for workplace incidents, documenting root causes and corrective actions Support Return-to-Work (RTW) and claims processes alongside HR and other stakeholders Deliver and facilitate effective safety training including new hire orientation Maintain accurate records of incidents, inspections, certifications, and audits Chair the Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC), ensuring compliance with all regulatory obligations Safety Specialist Qualifications: College diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (preferred) 3+ years of relevant experience in occupational health and safety Strong asset: Safety certification training (e.g., JHSC, WHMIS 2015, First Aid/CPR, Incident Investigation) Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with a collaborative mindset Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and reporting tools Comfortable walking long distances and conducting on-site evaluations
