Job Description
As a Safety Specialist, you will report to the Corporate Safety Director and play a crucial role in educating field personnel on correct safety procedures while ensuring adherence to safety policies. You will be responsible for conducting safety audits, investigating incidents, and developing training sessions to promote a safe working environment.
ResponsibilitiesConduct site safety audits to identify and correct unsafe conditions and behaviors.Prescribe corrective actions for recurring audit items and develop training sessions.Investigate all incidents and generate comprehensive reports.Aid in accident and incident investigations as required.Create, conduct, and document Tool Box Talks.Plan and execute task training as needed.Ensure all required safety signage is properly posted.Stop work to address serious safety deficiencies or violations.Complete and file documentation for disciplinary actions.Provide leadership with a focus on safe work practices and pre-task planning.Maintain a positive work atmosphere through effective communication.Assist in planning and implementing project safety needs.Actively participate in operational planning to eliminate hazards.Monitor compliance with safety portions of OPS Plans and collaborate with foremen for corrections.Investigate and procure new task-specific safety systems and equipment.Conduct on-site inspections and address hazardous conditions or unsafe practices.Reward and recognize field personnel for outstanding safety initiatives.Participate in daily morning huddles and end-of-shift meetings with job crews.Educate foremen on proper daily work plans and hold them accountable.Lead or assist with weekly safety meetings.Continue education in safety through seminars, meetings, and higher education.Network and remain current in safety topics relevant to the construction industry.Perform additional duties as directed by supervisors.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in Safety preferred or equivalent experience.Certifications from BCSP such as GSP, ASP, or CHSP.0-1+ years of experience Work Environment
You will work in a dynamic environment as part of an electrical contractor team with 500 union employees and 100 non-union office staff. The primary work site is a Data Center project located 20 minutes north of Beaver Dam, WI, running from July 2025 to October 2026. After the project, you will continue to support other projects. The role involves working closely with the Safety Manager and Superintendent, with up to 100 electrical personnel on site. Work hours are Monday to Friday, with shifts ranging from 8 to 10 hours. The culture emphasizes strong safety mentorship and support.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $33.00 - $38.00/hr.
