Weyerhaeuser is seeking a dedicated Safety Manager for our Hudson Bay OSB mill. Reporting to the Mill Manager, we need an experienced leader who is committed to safety, with a positive attitude and strong work ethic. The ideal candidate will lead our safety initiatives to ensure achievement with our corporate and site safety goals and ensure compliance with OHSA and other safety standards and lead various safety initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide safety and health expertise to mill and department managers.Implement, lead and manage safety programs, including training and audits.Develop and update safety policies and procedures.Oversee safety aspects of capital improvement projects.Mentor the Joint Health and Safety Committee.Ensure compliance with all safety regulations.Investigate incidents to prevent recurrences.Conduct ergonomics evaluations.Identify safety priorities and develop injury reduction systems.Lead the site in safety issue responses and build cooperative relationships.Interpret OHSA standards for the facility.Coordinate safety onboarding for new employees.Monitor and support annual safety training.Support the WP business through external audits, participation on the Panels safety team, and other related activities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health, or related discipline - PreferredCertified Registered Safety Professional or working towards designation – Asset.Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in Occupational Safety and Health or closely related field -requiredExperience in a manufacturing environment - PreferredSkills AttributesRole model for safety practices.Strong leadership and performance management skills.Passionate about safety and caring for others.Effective collaboration with all business groups.Self-directed, able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.Holds self and team members accountable for safety standards.Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills.Excellent communication and time management skills.Detail-oriented and accurate.Independent and self-motivated.

Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $88,531 - $128,459 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 7% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.
