Job Title: Safety Director
Job Description

The Safety Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all safety programs and policies to ensure a safe working environment for employees, subcontractors, and visitors. This role plays a critical part in maintaining compliance with OSHA regulations and minimizing risk across all excavation projects.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain company safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.Conduct regular job site inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.Lead safety training sessions for employees, including new hire orientation and ongoing education.Investigate accidents and incidents, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.Maintain safety records, including OSHA logs, training documentation, and inspection reports.Collaborate with project managers and field supervisors to promote a culture of safety.Ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE).Stay current with industry best practices and regulatory changes.Serve as the primary contact for safety-related matters, including audits and inspections.Essential SkillsProven experience in construction safety, preferably in excavation or heavy civil work.Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and other relevant safety regulations.Excellent communication and leadership skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.Certification in safety (e.g., OSHA 30, CHST, or CSP) is preferred.Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites.Additional Skills & QualificationsSafety Manager or Safety Director Experience (5 years)Construction experience, preferably excavationOSHA enforcement experienceSafety trainingAuditConstruction safetyWork Environment

The position is based on-site in the office in Carlisle, with regular visits to job sites around the south-central PA area. The company fosters a small, family-like atmosphere and is experiencing consistent growth, offering opportunities to build and improve the safety program.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
