We have an exciting opportunity for **Seed Product Development (SPD) Community Safety Specialists/Technicians** to join our company at multiple Research Centers across **our Global Corteva Seed Product Development** locations. The **Safety Specialist/Technician** is an integral part of our Global Safety Communities and works closely with our Research Center Operations Leads as well as our Safety Community partners in Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security (EHS&S).

Responsibilities – What You Will Do:

+ Assist all SPD sites within the Safety Community with Standard implementation, revisions, and tracking.
+ Lead the transition of Standards & Policies into safety excellence in our seasonal activities.
+ Ensure safety training programs are adequate, consistent, and updated across the Community.
+ Prepare, document, and train on site's standard operating procedures.
+ Train and mentor full-time, part-time, seasonal, and contingent staff.
+ Partner with the EHS&S Community Lead to facilitate Safety Community meetings and be part of the Europe SPD Safety Network.
+ Drive harmonization of Safety Standards within and across Communities.
+ Builds SPD work activity acumen to our EHS&S goals and execution.
+ Bridge Standards to behaviors and choices.
+ Ensure that facility safety and security policies are communicated, followed, and enforced.
+ Attend regional safety meetings as needed.
+ Other duties as assigned.
What expertise have you grown? What do you bring to the table?
+ You have a 2-year degree or vocational training in Agriculture or related field of study.
+ You have 5 years of related education and/or relative work experience (i.e. training, operations, manufacturing agriculture, warehousing, etc.).
+ You have strong interpersonal skills, including good written and verbal communication skills.
+ You are comfortable creating and facilitating training for both large and small groups.
+ You excel at working independently and in a team environment.
+ You have experience and proven proficiency in computer systems and programs including (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and tend to pick up quickly on new software and digital applications.
+ You are willing and able to have a flexible work schedule with the availability to support off shift teams as needed to provide training and serve as a safety resource.
+ You are available to travel up to 40% of the time, considering visiting sites of your community, trainings, and joining field crews during planting and harvest season.
+ You are passionate about Safety and looking forward to learning and acquire the necessary certifications to become a Safety Expert for your community.
+ You are familiar with Corporate Safety procedures, standards, and policies. Exposure to safety risk assessments and incident investigations is a plus.
+ Bilingual fluency (English/Spanish)
Preferences – It Would Be Great If You Have:
+ Subject matter expertise of safe operations in seeds research for day to day and seasonal work activities.
+ Bachelor’s or master’s degree in agriculture or scientific field with 0-4 years’ experience in Agronomy, Biology, Plant Breeding, or a scientific-related field.
+ Willingness/ability to gain certification in basic Occupational Health and Safety Training (OSHA 10 or OSHA 30)
+ Willingness/ability to gain certifications in Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and the Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
Physical Requirements:
+ Will be required to work outdoors and in varying ergonomic environments during whole shifts and for extended periods (e.g. planting season).
+ Ability to wear required PPE/RPE for the assigned task.
+ Willingness to work outside of normal hours in response to supporting season workload
+ Possess a valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
