Safety Coordinator (Nordics)

 

We are looking for a Safety Coordinator to join our Nordic EHSQ team. The position is a permanent position with start as soon as possible. As a Safety Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring that our facilities comply with Univar's internal safety requirements and ensure that applicable operating permits and environmental and safety laws are followed.

 

The job

As Safety Coordinator at Univar Solutions, you will have the whole of Nordic as a workplace, but the primary focus area will be Sweden, Denmark and Norway where we have our sites.

Your most important tasks will, among other things, include:

Responsible for formal contact with authorities (site permit and risk management) Control that legislation withing environmental, safety and risk management relevant for our sites are followed Coordinate so that relevant risk analyses for the sites are updated regularly Convene and lead quarterly EHS meetings at all Nordic sites Together with all Nordic sites, plan Safety related training for relevant functions Investigate incidents and develop corrective and preventive measures in collaboration with operations Evaluate if products can be handled at our sites in accordance with existing licenses and permits.

Univar will provide an onboarding, and we will provide you with all the necessary information, training and knowledge about the company's activities so that you are fully equipped to perform the job.

 

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has an education in mechanical-, chemistry- or environment engineering from a university or college. We hope that you have previous experience from a similar position and that you are good at reading and interpreting legislation. If you have experience in the chemical industry, it is a great asset. It is a requirement that you are fluent in English, both spoken and written, as it is our organizational language. You are fluent in Swedish and have an understanding of other Nordic languages.

 

Personal characteristics

Above all, we are looking for a candidate who has the right attitude and personality. You are comfortable solving problems and handling situations independently when needed. You typically prefer to carry out important tasks with minimal supervision, but you appreciate clear instructions when the situation calls for it. While you are open to listening to others’ perspectives, you are confident in standing by your own opinion when you disagree. It is important that you have good communication skills and are good at creating networks within the organization. You are meticulous and have a structured way of working. We believe that you are good at prioritizing and can handle a high work pace.

 

What does the team look like? We work in a Nordic organization, it means that you will find your colleagues in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland. And you will report to our Head of EHSQ who is based in Gothenburg.

Place of work:  Gothenburg or Malmö

Joining: Joining will be as soon as possible, but we are of course waiting for the right candidate.

Salary is agreed upon individually according to experience and skills. There will also be a car in the job.
