Safety Coordinator
Job Title: Safety CoordinatorJob Description The Construction Safety Coordinator works under the direction of the EHS Manager to support the implementation of safety policies and procedures on construction sites. This role is primarily responsible for delivering safety training to site personnel and collecting safety-related data in the field. The Safety Coordinator assists in ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards by gathering information, reporting potential hazards, and supporting the EHS Manager in promoting a safe work environment. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for effectively coordinating training sessions and maintaining accurate documentation. Responsibilities + Assist in implementing the Safety Program. + Provide different types of safety trainings, orientations, and ongoing education on safety protocols. + Maintain accurate record keeping and documentation. + Perform risk assessments and implement corrective actions. + Conduct incident investigations and document findings. + Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations and standards. + Coordinate and communicate effectively with cross-functional safety and management teams to ensure comprehensive safety alignment and implementation. + Accompany and support injured employees, attend initial doctor appointments, and provide support until the employee is released to full duty. Essential Skills + Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in construction. + Excellent communication, training, and presentation skills. + Ability to identify hazards and implement effective safety measures. + Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. + Technological proficiency. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or higher in occupational health and safety, construction management, or a related field preferred. + Minimum of 1 year experience in commercial construction safety, preferably with a grading or utilities background . + OSHA 30 certification required; OSHA 510 preferred. + Additional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) are advantageous. + Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish. Work Environment The work environment is primarily on construction sites where you will be exposed to varying weather conditions and physical demands. You will need to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety protocols. The role requires flexible hours and may involve occasional travel to different sites. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.04 - $34.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
