Position Summary: The Safety Coordinator ensures a safe workplace and OSHA compliance by collaborating with Operations Personnel to implement proactive, behavior-based safety practices. Key responsibilities include fostering personal accountability, preventing incidents, and conducting audits and risk assessments to sustain regulatory and company compliance.
Essential Functions:
+ Conduct audits, hazard analysis of project operations, and assists in updating and maintaining company safety manual.
+ May provide training for New Hire Orientation, CPR/First Aid, OSHA 10, Competent Person and other OSHA mandated training.
+ Responsibilities are focused on maintaining the safest possible workplace and OSHA Compliance.
+ Hands-on and interact with our field personnel and management team daily.
+ Collaborate with teams to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, standards, policies and/or procedures.
+ Foster a team environment when advising on needed corrections.
+ Cultivate positive and productive working relationships with customer representatives to ensure they are satisfied with our safe work practices and procedures, and work with crews to correct any issues that arise.
+ Promote and champion corporate training systems and services with a deep commitment to safety and quality.
+ Prepare, schedule, and conduct regular crew audits
+ Conduct daily site inspections to ensure adherence to safety protocols, including proper PPE use and hazard identification.
+ Provide training for employees on safety standards, including OSHA, and company-specific safety policies.
+ Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
+ Conduct risk assessments and develop job-specific safety plans.
+ Maintain safety records, reports, and documentation to demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements.
+ Must be willing to travel throughout the United States.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
+ Must have a minimum of 3 years safety experience, or other accredited safety certification i.e. CUSP CSP, ASP, OHS, CHST, CSST, CSHO.
+ Journeyman Lineman – 10 years plus experience
+ Strong presentation skills leading regular Safety Meetings and other trainings.
+ Provide technical assistance with the investigation of accidents, incidents, injuries, and/or illnesses.
+ Demonstrated experience coordinating and communicating information across company and department lines.
+ OSHA 30 or OSHA 500 Certification.
+ Computer skills – Microsoft 365 Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word
Physical Demands:
Employees must meet the physical requirements necessary to perform essential job functions. This includes regularly talking, hearing, standing, walking, and frequently using hands and fingers to handle or feel objects. Employees must also be able to reach with their hands and arms as part of their daily responsibilities.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical equipment and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.
