Safety and Risk Specialist

We are seeking a talented individual to join our LGIS team at Marsh Australia. In this pivotal role, you will partner with regional local governments in the Avon, Peel, and Central Wheatbelt regions and surrounding areas, providing essential support and guidance. You’ll also be provided with a fully maintained company vehicle for this role.

We will count on you to:

Build strong and collaborative relationships with the key people in the local governments to support their business risk and safety outcomesWork directly with clients to help them effectively manage their risks through mentoring, workshops, documentation and on the ground services or inspections.Travel to client sites, attend remote / video-based meetings to:provide support to manage WHS risksprovide support to manage business risksassist with implementing WHS management system requirementssupport clients to implement policies, procedures and best risk management practiceProactively plan and develop templates, documentation and workshops to meet the identified safety and risk needs of the Councils.Refer and recommend Councils to other departments within LGIS where appropriate

What you need to have:

Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (WHS) or equivalentSound understanding and working knowledge of WHS Act 2020, WHS (General) Regulations 2022 and the relevant Codes of Practice. Minimum of 2 years' experience in a multi-faceted WHS or risk management roleSound understanding of risk management principles and the ability to apply these principles in the management of WHS hazards and other areas of risk.Current WA Driver License
