Site specific salary information as follows: Salt Lake, UT: $88,621 - $115,213 Van Nuys, CA:$103,316 -$134,317 Carson, CA:$103,316 - $134,317 Santa Ana:$103,316 - $134,317 San Bernardino, CA:$103,316 -$134,317 Responsibilities Serves as a Safety and Occupational Health Specialist on the Contract Safety North Team in the Contract Safety Group, Safety Center, Technical Directorate, Defense Contact Management Agency (DCMA). Develops and implements an annual Contract Safety surveillance and risk mitigation program for assigned areas. Ensures DCMA's internal and external customers throughout the DoD community receive the highest level of functional, technical, and professional Contract Safety. Supports in evaluating conditions of current and future defense contractors, defense service providers, and producers of defense weapon systems, equipment, components, or spare parts. Applies a broad knowledge of contract administration, defense acquisition and safety policies and procedures in the performance of assigned duties. Participates in meetings, conduct briefings, and coordinate amongst various levels of management within DCMA and other government agencies in regards to Contract Safety. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify for a Safety and Occupational Health Specialist position your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-11 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Developing and implements an annual risk-based Contract Safety Surveillance Program for assigned areas. Applying a broad knowledge of contract administration in the performance of assigned duties to mitigate risk to the Defense Industrial Base. Applying a broad knowledge of safety policies and procedures in the performance of assigned duties to mitigate risk to the Defense Industrial Base. Performing risk management functions relating to a broad spectrum of safety disciplines (i.e. ammunition, aviation, and industrial) in support of accident or incident prevention. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
