Grow here.** We are seeking an experienced Safety Specialist to lead and manage all occupational health and safety activities across our consultancy, which comprises a dynamic team of about 400 engineering and architectural professionals. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring a safe and compliant working environment by overseeing risk assessments, safety planning, training programs, and regulatory compliance. You will collaborate closely with external prevention and protection services, internal team leaders, and occupational health professionals to implement and monitor safety strategies aligned with legal standards and industry’s best practices. This role is essential in fostering a proactive safety culture, supporting business continuity, and ensuring that all safety-related decisions are fully compliant with national legislation and internal policies, with a strong emphasis on prevention, training, and continuous improvement. **Here is what you will do:** + **Risk Identification & Mitigation** : Support risk assessments across all work system components and help design, implement, and update comprehensive prevention and protection plans. + **Workplace Oversight & Safety Culture** : Collaborate with supervisors to ensure workers understand and follow safety measures, receive proper training, and apply learnings consistently. + **Safety Signage & Equipment Management** : Define signage needs and ensure placement per legal standards; identify necessary personal protective equipment in compliance with local regulations. + **Incident & Inspection Handling** : Participate in workplace inspections, accident investigations, and monitor corrective actions in response to labor inspector directives. + **Medical & Psychological Evaluations** : Maintain records of workstations requiring specialized health assessments or psychological testing based on occupational medical recommendations. + **Reporting & Recordkeeping** : Compile reports on workplace incidents, manage documentation of risk areas, inspections, and equipment, while keeping records aligned with legal mandates. + **Interdepartmental Collaboration** : Coordinate efforts with prevention services, occupational physicians, workers’ representatives, and other employers operating within shared workspaces. + **GDPR Compliance & Data Confidentiality** : Ensure rigorous protection of personal data, safeguarding digital and physical access channels according to internal policies and legal requirements. **Qualifications** **Here’s what we’re looking for:** + A minimum of 3–5 years in a similar position or within an external prevention and protection service, preferably working with corporate clients, not just small or medium-sized businesses. + Participation in the investigation committee for at least 10 different workplace accidents. + Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation. + An ability to solve problems, trouble-shoot when the situation demands. + Fluent in English (spoken and written). **Additional Information** **At AECOM, you will have freedom to grow in a world of opportunity** _Our Freedom to Grow hybrid working philosophy is the cornerstone of our success as a business – supporting a culture of flexibility, trust and performance at AECOM._ \#LI-IP1 **About AECOM** AECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
