Responsibilities Act as safety resource to lab team membersAssist lab management with loss control activitiesCoordinate and assist developing facility risk assessmentsEstablish and implement the Safety Health and Environmental company program ensuring regulatory complianceCoordinate Safety Health and Environmental audits, inspections and evaluationsReview and monitor subcontractor controlsEnsure corrective management action when requiredConduct lab loss control data/documentation collectionAssist with new hire orientation and training programsPromote employee participation in the Safety Health and Environmental program(s)Formulate and conduct safety training sessions/demonstrationsLead the facility safety committee teamAssist in major incident investigations and appropriate documentationExhibit operational knowledge of pertinent safety standards Responsible for the reporting on the performance of the SHE management system, ensuring two way communication to management, colleagues and any other interested partiesDistribute new and changing safety related informationEnsure safety equipment is part of operational maintenance plans Skills / Qualifications Strong understanding of governmental safety and health regulations / legislation (NEBOSH General Certificate, OSHA 30hr / IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent as minimum)Has developing knowledge in compliance and regulationsProven track record of working in and/or influencing relationships where there is exposure to sensitive issuesDeveloping Safety, Health Environmental knowledge and experienceProficiency in MS OfficeExcellent communication (verbal and written) skillsMust be able to problem solve effectivelyAble to train and deliver key messages to large groupsAbility to enforce regulations and engage in conflict resolution in a respectful and engaging manner; ability to see both sides of a situation, analyze and resolve safety-related issuesAbility to analyze data and provide evidence-based recommendationsAbility to work under stressful situationsAbility to interpret a variety of instructions, data and details
