SaaS and Device Support Specialist


The SaaS Support Specialist plays a dual role supporting both RSI’s Rail Command® platform and sensor deployment initiatives. This position is responsible for ensuring data integrity, supporting back-end system processes, managing device deployment workflows, and maintaining the operational health of devices on rail equipment. The ideal candidate is technically oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills, capable of bridging logistics technology and device infrastructure in a non-customer-facing capacity.

What you'll do:

SaaS Platform & Data Operations Support

Maintain and monitor back-end data flows for Rail Command® and Yard Management systems, including EDI 417s, CLMs, ETAs, and waybill acknowledgements.Investigate and resolve data inconsistencies, gaps, and anomalies in client datasets to ensure platform accuracy and performance.Manage the lifecycle of Letters of Authorization (LOAs), ensuring all required documentation is current and appropriately escalated for renewal as needed.Support configuration and maintenance of demurrage rules and ensure accurate CLM mapping to support invoice accuracy.

Collaborate with internal teams on data interface configuration, maintenance, and validation (e.g., sightings, shipment execution, demurrage, accruals).

 


Device Support & Deployment

Assist in planning and coordinating device deployment schedules for GPS and sensor units across the fleet.Monitor device health, functionality, and performance via back-end systems; flag and escalate issues as needed.Manage data entry and updates for device inventory, installations, removals, and reprogramming within internal tracking systems.Support warranty claims, device replacements, and vendor communications related to hardware lifecycle management.Ensure compliance with industry standards, including AAR S-2045, in collaboration with field crews and engineering teams.Participate in internal projects to improve deployment efficiency, tracking capabilities, and long-term device sustainability.

 

What you'll bring:

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent work experienceMinimum 2 years experience in logistics systems support, SaaS platform operations, or IoT-related back-end rolesFamiliarity with EDI standards, transportation data, and industrial device monitoring systems is preferred

Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, Tableau) and enterprise platforms is a plus

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to data accuracy and system integrityProficient in managing technical workflows with minimal supervisionCapable of collaborating across departments to support scalable logistics and technology operationsExcellent written communication skills, particularly for documentation, reporting, and process mapping

Self-motivated and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Primarily office-based with occasional travel to rail yards or vendor sites as neededAbility to work at a computer for extended periodsMust be able to lift and move equipment up to 30 lbs occasionallyLimited exposure to warehouse or plant environments during field visits
