Summary of Role:
The Financial Modeller will form part of the M&A and Partnerships team, supporting in preparing, building and optimising financial models to support the commercial function, including Mainstream’s energy trading and aggregation business. In conjunction with other team members, this role will help support the modelling process from the Mainstream side as it relates to all tariff structuring and pricing, project finance, valuation and M&A activities.
The role will provide first-hand exposure to new and innovative tariff pricing structures and aggregation across a portfolio of generation assets as Mainstream rolls out its aggregation business strategy, as well as project finance and M&A activities. Previous financial modelling experience is not required, but a strong numerical ability and eagerness to learn are essential.
The role would suit an ambitious candidate keen to establish a strong foundation within financial modelling before progressing to take more responsibility for project financing or M&A work and commercial negotiations.

The role is open to both recent graduates with a solid grounding in finance/mathematics/economics / similar or a professional with 1 – 3 years financial modelling experience.

Strong numerical ability and financial acumen Strong ability to learn complex concepts and eagerness to learn Problem solving ability Proficiency with MS Excel and MS Office Suite is a must Any previous financial modelling and/or renewable energy experience is an advantage Ability to analyse qualitative & quantitative information for decision making purposes Commercial acumen and ability to highlight potential efficiencies/areas of concern Must be self-motivated and be able to take initiative Ability to work within a team and support other departments, as required Strong communication skills
