RWTKP - Spa Attendant
Job Description The Spa Attendant is responsible for ensuring that the Spa is always maintained in immaculate condition, through efficient use of correct techniques and products, being current on industry knowledge, and practicing superior technical skills. The Spa Attendant must be a team player, making decisions in the best interest of Sense Spa. Primary Responsibilities:

The Spa Attendant will perform all tasks associated with the maintenance and presentation of the Spa & Salon to the standards of Sense Spa as determined by Management.

1)                  Retrieve all professional and cleaning products/supplies from purchasing and maintain sufficient PAR levels of all products and materials by conducting daily, weekly and monthly inventory checks, then requisitioning replacement stock as required, ensuring that the Spa and Salon  never run out of operational items

2)                  Maintain all areas in immaculate condition including, but not limited to: Spa & Salon Reception, Salon, Men’s Salon, Spa Offices, Staff Relaxation Areas, Public Rest Rooms located in the Spa, Men’s and Women’s Locker Rooms, Relaxation Areas, Treatment Rooms, Reflecting Pool Deck, Post Treatment Rooms, Ceilings, Fixtures, Fittings, Artwork, Walls, Entrances, and Floors

3)                  Restocking of all Guest amenities throughout the Spa, Salon but not limited to: Shampoo, Conditioner, Shower Gel, Hand Soap, Deodorant, Body Lotion, Hair Products, Combs & Brushes

4)                  Retrieve all Spa linens and terry from the laundry and maintain sufficient PAR levels of all linens in the Spa and Salon by conducting daily, weekly and monthly inventory checks, then requisitioning replacement stocks as required, ensuring the Spa, Salon and Fitness areas never run out of linens.

5)                  Remove all trash to the appropriate disposal area.

6)                  Report any maintenance issues immediately to the maintenance department.

7)                  Assist Spa Therapists and Salon Technicians in stocking, restocking and maintaining Spa and Salon areas with sufficient supplies throughout the course of the day.

8)                  Attend daily shift briefings, monthly Department meetings and all other pertinent meetings.

9)                  Ensuring Rosewood, LQA & Forbes standards are constantly and consistently being followed.

10)              Must be knowledgeable of general information regarding the property, current promotions and activities and services.

11)              Complete any other task, within reason, as designated by the Manager.

12)              All tasks as requested by Management in a timely and efficient manner without hesitation or attitude.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

·         Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.

·         Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to accomplish all major responsibilities and tasks. 

·         Must be self-motivated.

·         Must work in a safe, prudent and organized manner.

·         Must have basic knowledge of computer programs including Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Office administration, Internet applications.

·         Knowledge of specific spa industry applications is desirable,

·         Must have a commitment to follow all local and corporate policies and procedures as they relate to the Spa and hotel.

·         Must have knowledge of current spa trends in the industry.

·         Must be able to relate to all levels of management and associates.

·         Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

·         Lead by example and be a mentor for spa associates to follow. (in particular reception)

·         Must have technical awareness and knowledge of a wide variety of Spa treatments and products.

·         Must be open to learning about treatments and concepts that derive from other cultures.

·         Must have knowledge of leadership techniques.

·         Must be capable of training.

·         Working with the spa management team to achieve optimal customer service and also to meet and discuss issues, concerns and praises for the staff.

·         Must be familiar with inventory control and five-star customer care.

·         Must have the ability to remain levelheaded under challenging situations.

·         Ability to always maintain discretion and confidentiality of all guests and hotel information.

·         Ability to work cohesively with other departments as part of a team.

·         Able to perform the below physical tasks.

1.                  Lifting             80lbs (linen, sheets, boxes)

2.                  Pushing           300lbs (carts, trolleys, wheeled moving equipment)

3.                  Pulling             200lbs (carts, trolleys, wheeled moving equipment)

4.                  Moving           80lbs (linen, sheets, boxes)

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

Education:

Any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.  Minimum High School education,

Experience:

One year experience as a spa reception or Attenant preferred
