Rotating Equipment Planner (Contractor)
CTG is seeking to fill a Rotating Equipment Planner (Contractor) opening for our client in Baytown, TX. Location: Baytown, TX Duration: 12 months Pay Rate: $50.00/hour – $60.00/hour Duties: Develop detailed work plans for rotating equipment maintenance, including precision alignments, vibration analysis, and bearing replacements, with accurate man-hour and cost estimates Apply technical knowledge of rotating equipment mechanics, tolerances, and failure modes to create maintenance strategies and troubleshoot issues Ensure proper inventory management of critical spare parts (bearings, seals, couplings) and maintain Bills of Material Coordinate resources and scheduling with Contractor Management Coordinator to minimize process disruptions Create and maintain task lists for repetitive jobs; develop detailed work instructions including safety guidance, resources, and tools Collaborate with production and technical teams on preventive/predictive maintenance plans, including vibration monitoring and lubrication schedules Review and purge backlog weekly, distributing "ready-to-schedule" work and identifying repetitive equipment issues for escalation Skills: Expertise in rotating equipment planning, scheduling, and troubleshooting Proficiency in SAP-PM Maintenance Transactions and Prometheus Strong organizational and documentation skills Ability to collaborate across multiple teams to ensure reliability and minimize downtime Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) Experience: 12 years of heavy industrial maintenance experience OR 7 years with an associate’s degree OR 4 years with a bachelor’s degree Certification from Vocational/Technical school in millwright or equivalent verifiable millwright experience At least 2 years of planning/scheduling experience with rotating equipment and cooling towers Education: High school diploma or equivalent required Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred in a relevant technical field Physical Requirements: Ability to climb stairs and vertical ladders, and work at heights up to 100+ feet Physical strength to safely perform maintenance requirements Ability to work extended hours at a computer workstation Success Metrics: Performance measured by quality of planning and meeting established KPIs Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
