Ford Motor Company is seeking a skilled Root Cause Analysis Engineer to serve as our expert troubleshooter for our in-house electronic modules. These critical systems—including Gateway, Telematics, and Accessory Protocol Interface modules—form the backbone of our vehicles' electronic architecture, controlling everything from connectivity to safety features. As vehicles become increasingly sophisticated, identifying and resolving electronic issues quickly is essential to maintaining Ford's reputation for quality.
In this pivotal role, you'll guide our Build To Print Suppliers through complex failure investigations, analyze data patterns, and implement permanent solutions. Your expertise will directly impact vehicle quality by driving continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring lessons learned are incorporated into future designs. By bridging the gap between current performance and future innovation, you'll help Ford deliver the exceptional quality our customers expect while shaping the electronic systems of tomorrow.
**What you'll do…**
+ Lead and facilitate root cause analysis investigations for complex technical issues, product failures, process deviations, and quality incidents.
+ Apply various RCA methodologies and tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams (Ishikawa), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Pareto analysis, and 8D problem-solving.
+ Collect and analyze relevant data from various sources, including manufacturing data, test results, customer feedback, system logs, and maintenance record
+ Conduct detailed failure analysis investigations on failed products or equipment.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and field service, to gather information and develop comprehensive solutions.
+ Document findings, create detailed RCA reports, and present conclusions and recommended corrective and preventive actions to stakeholders and management.
+ Develop and implement effective solutions to prevent product failures or process issues from recurring.
+ Monitor the effectiveness of implemented solutions and conduct follow-up assessments to ensure sustained improvement.
+ Identify systemic issues and opportunities for improvement across processes and products based on recurring root causes.
+ Provide training and coaching on RCA methodologies and problem-solving techniques to other team members and departments.
+ Contribute to the development and enhancement of the organization's overall RCA program and problem-solving capabilities.
+ Perform risk assessments to proactively prevent future failures.
**You'll have…**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field.
+ 3-5 years of Electrical and/or Product Engineering experience in a high-volume electronics manufacturing facility, with a strong focus on problem-solving and root cause analysis.
+ Proven experience and in-depth knowledge of various RCA methodologies and quality tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone, FTA, FMEA, 8D, 5D, Pareto Charts).
+ Excellent hardware and software debugging skills (Hands-on and Remote).
+ Knowledge of Surface Mount Technology (SMT) processes.
+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data, diagnose electronic failures, and identify causal relationships.
+ Good verbal and written communication skills

+ Experience with 5D/8D and various RCCA methods
+ Excellent hardware and software debugging skills(Hands on and Remote)
+ Detailed understanding of various technologies such as CAN, Automotive Ethernet, Audio, Displays and Cameras, Cellular/WiFi/BT RF
+ Knowledge of chip programming and software download into electronic modules
+ Knowledge of SMT processes
+ Experience with Jira
+ Motivated self-starter experience in a high-volume electronics manufacturing facility.
