Downer is seeking an experienced and motivated Level 2 Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician to join our Newcastle-based team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-impact projects across the rail and manufacturing sectors, where safety and reliability come first.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform NDT using ultrasonic, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, and eddy current techniques Analyse and interpret inspection results, producing detailed technical reports for clients Ensure compliance with Australian Standards and industry best practices in all testing Calibrate and maintain NDT equipment to the highest standards Collaborate with engineers and project teams to design efficient testing processes Support and mentor junior technicians as needed on-site

Selection Criteria:

ISO 9712 certification or equivalent qualifications in NDT or related discipline 3–5 years' hands-on experience in NDT, ideally within the Rail or manufacturing industry Proven expertise in ultrasonic, magnetic particle, and liquid penetrant methods Strong analytical mindset and technical acumen Excellent communication skills for client and team interactions High attention to detail with a proactive approach to quality and safety Current Australian driver’s licence and willingness to travel to client sites
