ROC Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Remote Operations Centre (ROC) Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be an Electrical Engineer with 1-2 years of experience in power plant operations, performance
monitoring, and analytics. This role will be responsible for 24x7 monitoring of power projects, optimizing plant performance, preparing MIS reports, managing power scheduling in open access markets, and collaborating
with external stakeholders to improve forecast accuracy and maintain up-to-date project data. The role will require people to work 6 days a week on a 3-shift model and will be eligible for 1 day off during the week.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
1. Project Monitoring & Analytics:
o Monitor the real-time performance of BLE’s power plants to ensure smooth operations using Monitoring Software such as Bazefield, Powertrack, etc.
o Identify and escalate any operational anomalies or issues to the local O&M teams.
o Analyse plant performance data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for
improvement.
o Prepare detailed performance reports and present findings to management.
2. Monitoring Software & Work Order Management:
o Ensure smooth data flow to Monitoring software through plant SCADA. Coordinate with O&M Manager for resolving data issues.
o WO tracking: Oversee and ensure O&M teams create Work Orders/tickets from Monitoring software and all tickets are closed on time.
3. MIS Reports:
o Data quality checking, review MIS reports from O&M contractors and report gaps. Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all reports.
4. Power Scheduling in Open Access Markets:
o Manage power scheduling activities for open access projects to ensure optimal utilization of generated power.
o Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders (F&S provider, clients, O&M contractors) to meet scheduling requirements.
o Monitor market trends and adjust scheduling strategies accordingly in coordination with internal stakeholders.
5. Data Management:
o Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of project data, including performance metrics, schedules, and forecasts.
o Ensure data integrity and accessibility for all stakeholders.
o Implement data management best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
1. Diploma degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
2. Working knowledge in software systems such as Monitoring Software.
3. Good understanding of solar and wind energy systems, performance metrics, energy trading and
industry trends.
4. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse
stakeholders.
5. Readiness to work in shifts including night shifts.
6. Team working attitude, detail-oriented mindset, with a focus on accuracy and precision and
demonstrating initiative and self-motivation.
7. Strong analytical skills with knowledge in MS Office 365 (Excel, Power Point, Word, etc).
