Position Overview:

 

Henry Ford Health is seeking a full-time, experienced Robotics Physician Assistant to join our small, collaborative team of four Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). This position is focused exclusively on robotics, and we are not accepting new graduates at this time. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in robotic surgery and be willing to travel between two clinical locations.

 

Schedule – 8-Hour Days, with need for flexible start and end times.

 

Weekend requirement – Not currently.

 

Call requirement – Not currently.

GENERAL SUMMARY: The Surgical PA will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. The Surgical PA will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, consultation, and care coordination as a first-line provider to patients and their families. Provides inpatient and/or outpatient medical care. Takes patient history, performs physical examination, orders, and interprets tests, makes diagnoses, and institutes appropriate treatment programs. Works in collaboration with staff physicians, house officers, nurses, and other medical care team members to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved safely and efficiently. Specific procedures are individually credentialed as indicated by training and experience. First or second assist in surgical cases. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Bachelor's Degree or Completion of an AMA-approved Physician Assistant program. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Requires Michigan state licensure and continued certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Current ACLS or BLS as required. Current ATLS/PALS provider status as required.

Qualifications:

 

·        PA – Completion of a Physician Assistant training program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)

·        PA – Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)

 

Licensure and Certification

·        Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in the state of Michigan

·        National certification as PA

·        Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification

·        Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

·        DEA/CSL, required through credentialing.

DEA - NPs do not have controlled substance licenses, only PAs.  When NPs apply, they will enter MI license number instead of controlled substance license since they won't have a CSL.

 

Experience

·        Physician Assistant experienced in Robotics.
