Your Opportunity We are seeking a driven and motivated individual to join our team as a Roadway Design Engineer. This position could be in Charleston or Columbia SC, as well as Asheville NC. Your Key Responsibilities Stantec’s local office designs a wide variety of transportation projects, such as interstate widening, arterial widening, intersection improvements, roundabouts, complete streets, and bicycle / pedestrian projects. These projects will offer you the opportunity to experience a broad range of professional experience. Working within the context of the communities we serve, we provide planning, engineering, and infrastructure management services that fit the needs of our clients and improve the overall transportation experience. Your Capabilities and Credentials - Assist in the development of roadway improvement plans for a variety of transportation projects. - Originate technical calculations and assisting the preparation of technical reports and project specifications. - Propose approaches to solve any project issues and provides guidance/mentoring to less experienced engineers. - Assisting in the preparation of technical reports and project specifications. - Ability to work independently and in groups. - Good communication, multi-tasking, attentiveness to detail. - Willingness to learn new skills and interface with multiple project managers. - Experience with MicroStation and GEOPAK/OpenRoads experience preferred. Education and Experience - Completion of a four (4) year college level academic program in Civil Engineering with a Bachelor of Science degree is mandatory. 0 to 5 years experience in transportation engineering, with your role and career path tailored to fit your current capabilities. - EIT license is preferred.
