We’ve got what you’re looking for. **Job Description:** **Road Safety Specialist - Traffic** **Qatar** Parsons is looking for an experienced and talented **Road Safety Specialist - Traffic** to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and efficiency of road networks by conducting traffic safety assessments, implementing safety measures, and providing technical expertise on road safety and traffic management. You will play a critical role in improving road safety standards and reducing traffic-related risks on infrastructure projects. **What You'll Be Doing:** + Conduct road safety audits and inspections at various stages of project development, including design, construction, and post-construction phases. + Analyze traffic flow, accident data, and road user behavior to identify safety risks and recommend mitigation measures. + Develop and implement road safety strategies, policies, and action plans to enhance traffic safety and reduce accidents. + Provide technical input on road safety aspects during the design and construction of road and infrastructure projects. + Review and approve traffic management plans (TMPs) to ensure compliance with safety standards and best practices. + Collaborate with engineers, planners, and stakeholders to integrate road safety principles into project designs and operations. + Conduct site visits to monitor the implementation of traffic safety measures and ensure compliance with approved plans. + Prepare detailed road safety reports, including findings, recommendations, and action plans for stakeholders and clients. + Liaise with local authorities, contractors, and other stakeholders to address road safety concerns and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements. + Stay updated on local and international road safety standards, guidelines, and best practices, including those from organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and International Road Assessment Programme (iRAP). + Provide training and awareness programs on road safety for project teams, contractors, and stakeholders. + Support the development of traffic impact studies and road safety assessments for new and existing infrastructure projects. **What Required Skills You'll Bring:** + Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering, Transportation Planning, or a related field. + Minimum of 10 years of experience in road safety, traffic engineering, or transportation planning, with a focus on infrastructure projects. + Strong knowledge of road safety audits, traffic management plans, and accident analysis. + Familiarity with local and international road safety standards and guidelines, such as iRAP, AASHTO, and MUTCD. + Proficiency in traffic analysis tools and software (e.g., Synchro, VISSIM, SIDRA, or similar). + Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare detailed reports and engage with stakeholders. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex road safety challenges. **What Desired Skills You'll Bring:** + Certification in road safety auditing (e.g., iRAP, RoSPA, or equivalent) is highly preferred. + Experience working on large-scale road and infrastructure projects in the Middle East or GCC region. + Familiarity with traffic simulation and modeling tools. + Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment. + Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines. + Knowledge of environmental and sustainability practices related to road safety.
