**Specialty Surgery Opportunities**
Our Surgical Inpatient units are fast paced units that include high acuity patients. Are you looking to increase your knowledge base? Our Surgical Inpatient leadership team fosters an environment that supports learning, mentoring, and building each team member.
**Patient Population:** Microvascular, Reconstructive/Plastics, ENT, Bariatric, Oral Surgery, etc.
**Patient Ratios:** 1:3-5
**Number of Beds:** 27
**Unit selling points:** The only ones doing microvascular surgeries in North Texas! Continuous learning, teaching facility, magnet designated, and Bariatric Center of Excellence. ENT/Breast, Microvascular Dedicated Nurse Practitioner. 90% BSN prepared RNs. Specialty certification opportunities: RN-BC and CMSRN. 7 years CLABSI free, 2000 days CAUTI free, high Quality patient outcomes, leading BUMC. US New & World Report ranked us among the TOP 50 hospitals nationwide in treating Ear, Nose and Throat Disease. **Job Summary**
As a Seasonal RN, you align with our nursing model, manage patient care, evaluate, recognize, create, implement care plans. Monitor patient progress is also vital. Your knowledge will help patients navigate the healthcare system safely, reducing complications. You will use your expertise to understand patient needs and the healthcare environment.
**Essential Functions of the Role**
+ Using good judgment and clinical reasoning, conduct thorough assessments following practice standards.
+ Identify patient and family needs, then develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans accordingly. Make adjustments as needed.
+ Creating safe, therapeutic environments for patients, families, and staff.
+ Managing emotional and physical pain to promote recovery and prevent unnecessary suffering.

+ Comprehensive knowledge of standards and procedures in nursing and patient care.
+ Effective communication skills to articulate thoughts clearly and interact with diverse groups of people.
+ Proficient problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills to provide quality patient care.

**Seasonal Commitment Information**
+ Full-time Seasonal weekly requirements are three 12-hour day shifts (7a- 7p) for the 13-week contract (excludes 1 st week of orientation)
+ $1,500 completion bonus for meeting minimum productive time
+ $51 Seasonal rate.
+ Eligible for shift differentials. $3.50 for evenings, $5 for nights, and $6 for weekends. These are stackable (as applicable by time/day) so if you worked a weekend night, you would be paid $51 + $5 + $6.
+ Weekend requirements are the same as regular FT- Rotating weekends
+ The first week is Monday- Friday orientation.
+ Although this is a short term (13 week) assignment, you would be a Baylor employee (not contractual, agency, etc.). The hope is that once the assignment is concluded, you will convert to a regular FT, PT, or PRN role.
**Registered Nurse Requirements**
+ At least one year of inpatient hospital RN experience
+ Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program
+ License/Certification
+ RN – Registered Nurse
+ BLS – Basic Life Support (required within 30 days of hire)
