**Job Summary and Qualifications**
As a RN Quality Coordinator you will be responsible to gather data, reviews charts **f** ormulate reports for the Medical Staff and other quality functions. Under the direction of the VP of Quality & Risk Management, you will be responsible for providing support in assuring regulatory compliance and collecting data for hospital performance improvement programs. You will have a quality impact on our patients’ lives and the opportunity to truly make a difference. Your clinical background will be put to important use as you join us in our efforts to better our community!
**In this role:**
+ You will keep up on any changes and improvements to help the outcomes of the Core Measures. Reviews all mortalities, documents findings for Division.
+ You will assume day-today responsibility for process and performance improvement activities of the sepsis and stroke programs as well as any subsequent clinical quality programs.
+ You will act as an expert and resource to professional staff providing education to physicians, nursing, allied health personal and EMS as needed.
+ You will be responsible for the development and implementation of staff education for topics of the various programs for the organization. Works with Education department to develop and/or select education materials utilized for patient education.
+ You will update contract service records and assists administration with review and compliance of contracted services provided **.**
+ You will provide formal reports to hospital-wide committees and boards to include policy and procedure development.
+ You will develop presentations for reporting quality data.
+ You will work with medical staff to assure appropriate diagnostic tests and medications are being utilized (not responsible for direct patient management).
+ You will ensure that patient educational materials are reviewed for health literacy and cultural competence.
**Qualifications:**
+ Associate Nursing Degree required; BSN preferred.
+ State of Utah Nursing license required, or compact license within 90 days of hire.
+ American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification
+ Good computer skills and keyboarding required.
+ **Self-starter with the ability to work with others in a team to ensure quality patient care.**
+ **Strong problem solving skills.**
+ **Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.**
+ **Must have 2 or more years of clinical experience as a RN in an acute care setting, ICU and/or med/surg preferred.**
