About the unit
The Helen DeVos Dialysis and Nephrology team cares for pediatric patients with chronic dialysis needs in the outpatient setting, as well as acute needs on the inpatient units at Helen DeVos. Experienced healthcare professionals are required to understand and assess patient conditions and reactions to dialysis. Teamwork is a key function within the unit and is a well-known culture for this team. The Helen DeVos Dialysis and Nephrology team is passionate about providing safe, quality care to all renal patients and always working to find better ways to manage appropriate care.

Scope of work
Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan. Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health. Strives to achieve optimal outcomes.
Qualifications
+ Associate’s degree Nursing Required
+ Bachelor's degree of Science in Nursing must be obtained within 5 years of start date Required
+ Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program Required
+ LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
+ 2 years of RN experience Required
+ CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association or ARC American Red Cross 90 Days Required
+ CRT-Pediatric Adv Life Support (PALS) - AHA American Heart Association 180 Days Required
+ CRT-Pediatric Emergency Assessment Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) - AHA American Heart Association 1 Year preferred
+ CRT-Specialty Certification - preferred
