The role youll contribute:
The Registered Nurse is central to providing patient-centered, coordinated nursing care for patients or assigned groups within a patient care unit, embodying day-to-day management and supervision of clinical activities. This role requires supervising and directing various levels of nursing personnel with professional discretion, judgment, and a comprehensive application of nursing skills including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The primary function is the delivery of competent, compassionate, and cost-effective nursing care, adhering to the nursing process for medical and nursing care direction and administration. This performance aligns with established policies, procedures, and protocols, under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, Director, Vice President of Clinical Services, or designee. As a full partner in the healthcare team, this role collaborates with all healthcare disciplines to achieve successful patient care outcomes, utilizing physical assessment skills and advanced diagnostic technology for patient care needs assessment. Data is analyzed, synthesized, and disseminated to refine the patient's plan of care continually, aiming for the desired goals of the patient and facility. Participation in providing patient-specific care standards and following service excellence standards is crucial to ensuring high levels of patient satisfaction.

Assists with the care and stabilization of the newborn following delivery.
Maintains skills in neonatal resuscitation and stabilization.
Assists with the transfer of newborn to another facility when indicated. Notifies charge nurse and House Supervisor of anticipated transfer.
Accurately identifies and bands newborn, mother and significant others with matching identification bands. Documents band identification number appropriately in medical record.
Demonstrates knowledge and provides support to natural mother, agencies, and foster or adoptive parents when newborn is for adoption.
Demonstrates knowledge of individual role in Hospital infant abduction plan.
Demonstrates proper documentation of all procedures, medications, communications and care provided to the neonatal patient
Performs other related duties as directed or required which include but are not limited to:
IV management in the neonate
Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Associate's of Nursing Required
General knowledge of professional nursing principles and techniques used in the assessment, care and treatment of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Nursery patients.
Registered Nurse (RN) Required
Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) Required
Neonatal Resuscitation Protocol (NRP) Required
