Caregivers in our 3 Seidman Oncology/Palliative Unit provide medical, neurological and telemetry care for inpatient and observation patients who have cancer, are receiving cancer treatments, are receiving other related treatments and have other related diagnoses. As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care by interacting directly with patients, families, and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed. This position requires a caregiver who is empathetic, understanding and nurturing to ensure quality patient care and effective life-saving treatment. This position allows you to use your comprehensive skills and expertise to deliver outstanding care while providing you numerous opportunities to explore educational development courses and advance the Professional Ladder at Cleveland Clinic. **A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. with every other weekend and holiday requirements.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Provide direct nursing care. + Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans. + Monitor, record, document and communicate patients' conditions. + Administer prescribed medications and treatments. + Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. + Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs. + Educate patients and their families. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing + Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) + Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) + One year of current acute care RN experience OR military RN experience + Cancer specific certification or demonstrate ongoing qualifying education within the timeframe of the facilities accreditation cycle, if they work in medical oncology, radiation oncology, cancer center or cancer clinic and/or administer chemotherapy within an accredited Cleveland Clinic facility. + ONS Chemo/Bio course completed within two years of hire Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN).
