Cleveland Clinic Avon Hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a 12-bed unit that provides personalized care for patients with complex medical and surgical conditions. Our caregivers deliver the highest quality and safest care through strong teamwork and collaboration. As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care by interacting directly with patients, families, and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed. This position allows you to use your comprehensive skills and expertise to deliver outstanding care while providing you numerous opportunities to explore educational development courses and advance the Professional Ladder at Cleveland Clinic. **A caregiver in this position works variable shifts from 7:00 a.m. -- 7:30 p.m.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Provide direct nursing care. + Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans. + Monitor, record, document and communicate patients' conditions. + Administer prescribed medications and treatments. + Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. + Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs. + Educate patients and their families. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing + Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) + External applicants: two years of recent experience in a critical care setting + Internal applicants with less than two years' experience, but post orientation/90-day probationary period, could be considered with the Chief Nursing Officer level review and approval + Will consider military RN experience + Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) + Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) within one year of hire Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN).
