Job Overview:
RWJBarnabas Health is looking for a qualified RN to join the team in Barnegat, NJ. An Outpatient RN Registered Nurse provides nursing care in a non-hospital setting, such as a clinic or ambulatory surgery center. They focus on patient assessment, care planning, medication administration, wound care, and patient education. Outpatient RNs also assist with medical procedures and ensure patients are prepared for discharge and home recovery.

Patient Care and Assessment:
Assess patients: Outpatient RNs evaluate patients' health conditions, obtain medical histories, and identify patient needsDevelop care plans: They collaborate with the healthcare team to create individualized care plansAdminister medications: They ensure proper medication dosage and adherence to treatment plansProvide wound care: They perform wound care, including cleaning and dressing changesMonitor patient progress: They observe patients, document observations, and update patient recordsEducate patients and families: They provide information about medical conditions, treatment options, and self-care techniquesAssistance with Procedures:
Assist with minor surgeries: Outpatient RNs may assist with minor surgical procedures in an outpatient settingAdminister vaccinations: They may administer vaccinations as part of preventative carePerform diagnostic tests: They may assist with or perform various diagnostic testsOther Responsibilities:
Prepare patients for discharge:They ensure patients are ready for discharge and have the necessary information for home careMaintain patient records:
