As a Registered Nurse at MercyOne, you will Oversee the day-to-day operations of the department. Through theory-based practice, the RN utilizes critical thinking to assess, plan, implement and evaluate outcome based care for a select group of patients. The RN supervises and coordinates care provided to patients by the LPN, Patient Care Assistants and other nursing team members. The RN facilitates communication with physicians, patient and family, other departments and/or team members. Adheres to Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare’s performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare.

Schedule:

Full times 40 hours a weekDays

General Requirements:

Conducts an initial and ongoing assessment to gather and analyze data.Identifies patient short and long-term goals and develops them into an outcome based plan of care.Implements an outcome based plan of care.Coordinates assignments/team conferencing and staffing, in conjunction with the House Supervisor.Evaluates patient response to treatments and modifies the outcome based plan.Communicates relevant clinical information to optimize patient outcomes.Educates patient and family to meet identified needs.Plans discharge.Assists manager in overseeing daily operations of departmentContributes to staff performance evaluation.Participates in selection and orients, trains and develops staff.

Education:

Associate Degree:  Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN PreferredCurrent Iowa RN license.BLS.Mandatory Reporter. 2 years of experience
