**SUMMARY OF POSITION:**
The RN Attending Nurse will provide direct patient care, administers medications, educates, collaborates, and counsels patients and families. The Registered Nurse assesses physical, psychosocial, and learning needs of patients and families. The Attending RN will serve as the professional nurse by assessing, planning, directing, practicing and evaluating patient care in a designated group practice.
The Heart and Vascular Institute in State College is looking for an outpatient Attending Nurse (RN) to join our talented team. We are looking for someone who is a dynamic team player with previous experience in cardiac care and/or critical care. The candidate should have strong patient skills with the ability to triage complex patients both over the phone and in person. We are looking for someone who is confident in their abilities and who can work independently but also support the rest of the team. Our staff have tremendous relationships with our patients. The candidate should be empathetic, kind, and willing to go the extra mile for our patients.
Duties include-Rooming of patients, Patient Triage, Placement of Holter Monitors, performing EKGs, Patient Care Coordination including prior authorizations and placement of referrals, Stress Testing, and Support for our Cardiology sub-specialists.
We are looking for a vibrant candidate who sees this position as an opportunity to expand their cardiac knowledge and interpersonal skills, all while providing high-level academic cardiology care in the community.
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):**
+ Associate's Degree in Nursing required.
+ BSN required within four (4) years of hire.
+ Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by the state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the Interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
+ One (1) year of RN experience or two (2) years of LPN experience. Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):**
+ BSN preferred
