The Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) offers advanced outpatient surgery, allowing patients to return home soon after their procedures without the need for overnight stays. This position is part of the Marymount ASC, working with Cleveland Clinic Sport Health Medicine/Orthopedic and Plastics teams. We strive to be the best department to receive care and to be the best place to work. **A caregiver in this position works days, 8:00am-4:30pm or 6:30am-7:30pm.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Oversee the clinical practice of nursing in the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), including assessing patient care needs and planning the delivery of care utilizing the nursing process in a variety of settings. + Direct other caregivers in providing patient care. + Report variances from standard practice to the Nurse Manager. + Develop educational material and provide health education to patients and families. + Process patients through the ASC. + Assess the level of personnel skills and the availability of resources to meet established patient outcomes. + Actively participate in attaining ASC goals and mission. + Monitor and evaluate cost effective practices within the ASC. + Participate in the development and utilization of quality monitoring programs within the ASC. + Responsible for personal and staff development by maintaining nursing competencies and participating in the preparation of staff development programs. + Identify self-learning needs by establishing personal and professional goals to meet those needs and evaluate the attainment of the set goals. + Demonstrate respect for the cultural and social differences that exist among people. + Maintain confidentiality of information regarding patients, families and staff members. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Graduate of an approved School of Nursing + Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) + Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) + Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) within six months of hire + One year of clinical experience as an RN in a perioperative or critical care setting OR three years of Surgical Technician experience Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
