The Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) offers advanced outpatient surgery, allowing patients to return home soon after their procedures without the need for overnight stays. As an RN, you will assist fellow caregivers in providing exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send-off. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed. Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering education and online/in-person courses to enhance your skills.
Caregivers in this position will work full-time days from 7:00am to 3:30pm. This position will also be floating between various locations such as Lorain, Beachwood, Strongsville, and Marymount. These rotations will be done rotationally and fairly.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Establish and maintain courteous and cooperative relations with patients and other users of the ASC.Oversee the clinical practice of nursing in the ASC including assessing patient care needs and planning the delivery of care utilizing the nursing process in a variety of settings.Direct other caregivers in providing patient care.Assume charge responsibilities and resolve problems.Report variances from standard practice to the Nurse Manager.Develop educational material and provide health education to patients and families.Process patients through the ASC.Assess the level of personnel skills and the availability of resources to meet established patient outcomes.Actively participate in attaining ASC goals and mission.Monitor and evaluate cost effective practices within the ASC.Participate in the development and utilization of quality monitoring programs within the ASC.Maintain responsibility for personal and staff development by maintaining nursing competencies.Complete all mandatory nursing competencies and educational requirements within a defined time frame.Participate in the preparation of staff development programs, while identifying self-learning needs, establishing personal and professional goals to meet those needs, and evaluating attainment of set goals.Demonstrate a positive, concerned and sensitive response in the workplace.Contribute to the positive atmosphere of the workplace.Interact with patients, visitors and staff in a courteous, helpful manner.Demonstrate respect for the cultural and social differences that exist among people.Maintain confidentiality of information regarding patients, families and staff members.Resolve conflict in a positive manner.Other duties as assigned.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Current state license as a Registered Nurse (RN)Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) requiredAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the AHA, complete ACLS training within the first 6 months of hire1 year of clinical experience as an RN in a perioperative or critical care setting or three years of surgical technician experienceMust have circulating experiencePreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Physical Requirements:
Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.Personal Protective Equipment:
