The Pediatric PACU specializes in caring for children with problems of the gastrointestinal tract. We take care of children with a variety of gastroenterological conditions involving organs in the digestive system, including the esophagus, stomach, large bowel, small bowel, liver, gallbladder and pancreas. Our patients have access to multiple specialties including pediatric surgery, pediatric radiology and pediatric anesthesia, as well as the full resources of the Cleveland Clinic. Taking the time to explain treatment options and plans to children and their families is a high priority for our pediatric GI specialists and hepatology team.
As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care by interacting directly with patients, families, and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed. This position requires a caregiver who is empathetic, understanding and nurturing to ensure quality patient care and effective life-saving treatment. This position allows you to use your comprehensive skills and expertise to deliver outstanding care while providing you numerous opportunities to explore educational development courses and advance the Professional Ladder at Cleveland Clinic.
A caregiver in this position works variable ten-hour shifts from 6:30 a.m. -- 6:00 p.m.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic services to hospitalized patients in a variety of healthcare settings. Assess patients, complete nursing assessments, document findings in patient records and notify physicians of abnormal findings. Perform telephone triage and call rotations. Perform nursing procedures and administer treatments and medications. Establish care plans in collaboration with patients, families and the health care team. Coordinate ongoing care, identify discharge needs and facilitate discharge planning. Evaluate, initiate and maintain standards of care. Educate patients and families. Cover other nursing roles in the department.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) One year of recent experience as an RNPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Physical Requirements:
