Cleveland Clinic Tradition Hospital in Port St. Lucie offers comprehensive breast surgery services, including both treatment of breast cancer and risk reduction procedures. They have a dedicated team of breast surgeons and specialists who provide personalized care using advanced technologies and surgical techniques. As an RN in this department, you will work closely with the Breast Surgeon and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses to ensure maximum patient safety and satisfaction In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide important medical information as needed. Our Center for Workplace Violence Prevention and Caregiver Well-Being sets caregiver safety as a priority, identifying, reporting and responding to incidents and providing safety resources.
A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00AM – 5:00PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Perform telephone triage.
Notify physicians/LIPs of abnormal findings.
Establish a care plan in collaboration with the patient, family, and health care team.
Collaborate with care coordinators to ensure smooth and effective transitions of care.
Assist with specialized diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physician/LIP and monitor patients for response.
Participate in quality initiatives, process improvements, and research activities to improve patient outcomes, patient experience, and patient safety.
Maintain professional growth and development in the nursing field and identify annual core competencies.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate of accredited school of nursing (ADN or BSN program)
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
One year of recent experience as a Registered Nurse
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) within six months of hire
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) upon or within three years of hire
Will consider LPN, Medical Assistant and/or other unlicensed clinical healthcare experience in substitution of RN experience if applicant is a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in an ambulatory setting transferring into an RN role but remaining in the same current ambulatory Cleveland Clinic setting OR a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in a clinical role within the same specialty area transferring into an ambulatory area
Physical Requirements:
Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
May requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects.
Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible.
