Euclid Hospital's 9th floor Med/Surg and Stroke Unit is designated for patients who have recently suffered from a stroke and provides the highest level of comprehensive stroke care that ensures patients are being treated quickly, leading to improved outcomes and reduced recovery times. As a Primary Stroke Center, certified by The Joint Commission, Euclid Hospital has met strict national stroke care standards and is held to the highest quality and patient safety standards. **A caregiver in this position works nights, 7:00pm-7:30am.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Provide direct nursing care. + Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans. + Monitor, record, document and communicate patients' conditions. + Administer prescribed medications and treatments. + Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. + Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs. + Educate patients and their families. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing + Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) + Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) + One year of current acute care RN experience OR military RN experience + Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) in ED and Pediatrics + Completion of a Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC - adult) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC - pediatric) within two years of hire in dedicated Trauma Centers and ED + Cancer-specific Certification or demonstrated ongoing qualifying education for medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Cancer Center or Cancer Clinic and/or Chemotherapy + Completion of the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Provider Status through the American Heart Association (AHA) in NICU + Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) within one year of hire in ED settings + One year of acute care RN experience and/or Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) for SNF settings + One year of acute care and/or Emergency Department (ED) RN experience for ED settings + One year of acute care and/or rehab RN experience for rehabilitation settings Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
