Cleveland Clinic Staffing Resources (CCFSR) offers the opportunity to care for patients in various departments across Weston Hospital. As an RN on this team, you will be required to float to Weston Abdominal Transplant Unit (Liver/Kidney), which provides comprehensive care for liver and kidney transplant patients, including both living- and deceased-donor procedures. You will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional support, from initial introduction to final send-off, interacting directly with patients and families to enhance their experience, providing healthcare information, and addressing the behavioral, developmental and psychosocial needs of patients of all ages.

Our Center for Workplace Violence Prevention and Caregiver Well-Being sets caregiver safety as a priority, identifying, reporting and responding to incidents and providing safety resources. 

This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working various day/evening/night/weekend shifts from 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. On call shifts may be required.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Provide general and specialized direct and indirect patient care through the application of sound procedures and practices.

Perform accurate and complete admission assessments within defined time frames.

Assess and document patient's pain levels utilizing appropriate protocols.

Monitor, record and document patient's condition and effectiveness and timeliness of care and/or interventions.

Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.  

Delegate appropriate components of the nursing care plan to other members of the nursing team.

Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs. 

Attend Department Meetings and complete mandatory education/organizational requirements.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program)

Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)  

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) 

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) through American Heart Association (AHA)

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA)

Two years of experience in a transplant hospital environment

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) 

Previous experience as an RN in Main OR

Ability to support multiple modalities

Physical Requirements:

Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.

Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.

Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
