Five ambulatory oncology infusion rooms located in the Portland metro area. Chair/bed number ranges from 15-18 depending on site. Provide care to both Oncology and non-Oncology patients. Open 7 days a week including holidays and weekends.

 

Department Specific Working Conditions:

Shared and collaborative infusion space.Ability to alternate between various work sites, depending on the practices’ space allocation, division of daily work activities, etc.Rotate into other assignments (conditional based on appropriate training) such as infusion referrals, triage and charge nurse Required Qualifications BSN Graduates: Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a program accredited by Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA) 30 days before start date.ADN Graduates: Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program 30 days before the start date. Associate degree Nurses required to enroll in BSN program within 3 years of hire and complete within 5 years of hireCurrent, unencumbered Oregon State Registered Nurse LicenseBLS at time of hire and must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) BLS must not expire during orientation Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation

 

 

 

Department Specific Requirements (competencies, equipment, certifications, etc.):

• At least two years of RN experience at time of hire.

• Completion of ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy administration certification during orientation.
• Communication skills including fluency in oral and written English.
• Navigate information technology associated with the position.
• Use Electronic Health Record information and associated tools.
• Record, track and assign duties and processes to ensure appropriate billing and revenue generation, when applicable.
• Facilitate care coordination with other providers and services to complement ambulatory Oncology care and meet holistic needs of the patient and family.

• IV access proficiency. Experience working with Central Lines, Port-a-cath. Experience handling and administering hazardous medications.

Preferred Qualifications ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider CardAt least year of experience working in Adult ambulatory Hematology/Oncology in the last five years.At least one year of experience working in inpatient Oncology in the last five years Additional Details

 

Length of Orientation – Experienced Nurse

External candidates: OHSU & Nursing New Employee Orientation (NEO) for about a week.Either Transition to Practice (TTP) Program Specialty Fellowship/Fellowship Learning Pathway or Orientation experience for 3 days-26 weeks depending on the care area.
