As part of the Wholesale Credit Risk team, you will play a crucial role in assessing and managing credit and counterparty risks across industries, clients, and geographies. As an Analyst in Wholesale Credit Risk, you will utilize your superior analytical skills, combined with credit and industry knowledge, to make and support credit decisions for a portfolio of clients. You will collaborate across credit risk and business teams to meet client credit requests, balancing the risk-return needs of the Firm. Your role involves constant monitoring of your portfolio to accurately assign risk ratings to clients and facilities, ensuring a robust culture of compliance.
Job Responsibilities
Conduct credit analysis and help a deal team seek approval for lending and trading-related transactions, including operating exposures, individually or as part of a deal team.Create written credit approval documents, including the spreading and presentation of historical financial statement information and related financial analysis, as well as projections of future cash flows for large corporate borrowers.Develop a well-informed and forward-looking view of the business, financial, and competitive risks associated with a company and sector.Manage and monitor a portfolio of client credit exposures across industry classes on an ongoing basis.Take ownership of client credit needs and projects, independently developing a credit opinion.Review and assign risk ratings, maintaining updated credit research on your portfolio of clients.Participate in the credit due diligence process for clients, including for capital markets transactions.Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Bachelor’s degree with academic training in the principles of accounting, corporate finance, capital markets products, and macroeconomics.Strong analytical/financial modeling ability and excellent accounting and corporate finance expertise.Strong verbal and written communication skills with an interest in client interaction.An exceptional work ethic and highly motivated with a natural passion to learn and an inquisitive personality.Ability to work well under pressure on teams in a demanding environment.Capable of understanding, describing, and debating complex concepts.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Some credit/underwriting credentials, analytical skills, and experience is a plus, particularly in Technology, Media, or Telecommunications.
