The opportunity:

As a Risk and Quality Assurance Specialist covering a 12-month parental leaver, you’ll support the Partnership Distribution team with daily risk monitoring, assurance, and reporting. You’ll help enhance risk and compliance frameworks, contributing to AIA NZ’s strategic goals and a strong risk culture.

This role is key to ensuring the business stays aligned with regulatory expectations while continuously improving how we manage risk across the board.

Key responsibilities include:

Monitoring various inboxes - reviewing and performing adviser investigations when required.

Providing factually sound information to Partnership Distribution Risk Managers through assurance activity.

Carrying out quality assurance audits for Partnership Distribution.

Assisting in monitoring activity for the AIA Financial Advice Provider (FAP).

Analysing QA results gathered and communicating this to the relevant Team Manager.

Identifying areas for improvement and providing recommendations supported with analysis on changes proposed.

Collecting and compiling risk and control data to assist with oversight, governance and reporting.

Providing assurance over key controls, systems and models.

Supporting continuous review of divisional risk profiles, and business and process improvement initiatives.

Working effectively with divisional colleagues, central risk functions, internal audit, and external audit.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex matters in simple language.

Demonstrated ability to network and build relationships both internally and externally.

Proven experience in risk management, quality assurance or audit, in the financial services industry.

Data analysis and problem-solving skills.

Comfort dealing with complexity and conceptual thinking.
