As an enrolled student of electrical engineering or related field of studies, you’ll become part of our research team and help us to develop new measurement procedures for RF components in future 5G and 6G communication systems.
Modern RF architectures must be space-saving, energy-efficient, and extremely flexible. They are increasingly being implemented with very broadband analog/digital converters to replace or digitally replicate previous analog RF functions such as filters or mixers. In this project, methods and measurement systems are being developed to calibrate and test new super-efficient power amplifier technologies that integrate built-in self-test (BIST), internal reconfigurable, and artificial intelligence (AI). Come join our team!
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Setup RF/Mixed-Signal measurement systems for power amplifiers that include GaN technology, Digital predistortion (DPD), and built-in intelligence.
Build digital interfaces for power amplifiers with LabVIEW FPGA
Develop new measurement procedures for mixed-signal characterization of built-in self-test (BIST) circuits
Implement measurement and automation scripts in LabVIEW and Python
Who You Are:
You are passionate about wireless technology and like to learn and work with the latest test and measurement techniques and equipment.
You can manage your time well and reach out to mentors with questions to help drive progress and completion of goals and tasks.
You work effectively in a global team environment, problem-solve, and diagnose technical issues and propose reasonable solutions.
For This Role, You Will Need:
Active student enrollment, working toward a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Information System Technology, or comparable field of studies
Basic programming knowledge (e.g., Python, LabVIEW preferred)
Good command of spoken and written English
Available to work full time (40-hrs/week) for 6 months, starting in July 2025
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
Active student enrollment, working toward a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Information System Technology, or comparable field of studies
Knowledge of common RF test equipment and RF measurements
Basic knowledge in signal processing and RF/wireless communications
Experience in the practical use of measurement instruments (e.g., Signal Analyzer, Vector Network Analyzer, Oscilloscope)
Interest in RF/Mixed-Signal measurement systems measurement and accuracy challenges
Analytical thinking and a high degree of initiative
Proficiency in a broad toolset for programming, debugging, and analytics (e.g., LabVIEW, Python, VS Code, Excel)
