Job Description

All interested individuals are encouraged to apply for this position. Our typical recruiting process takes 2-4 weeks, depending on the current hiring volume and number of applicants.

As a Rewinding Operator, you will safely and efficiently operate the rewinder to inspect and deliver a quality product to our internal and external customers. Orders will be inspected per product specifications and work instructions. You will be responsible for problem-solving and will work directly with the QA team when making decisions on product quality.

In this important role, you will also be responsible for: 

Loading and unloading rolls using equipment provided.

Troubleshooting problems on the rewinder machine. 

Accurately performing data entry to record material transactions.. 

Setting up the rewinder to proper process parameters.

Following work schedule reports.

Communicate and coordinate necessary information to appropriate department personnel to ensure effective operation.

Recommend and implement improvements to the inspection/ rewind operation. 

Following all health, safety and housekeeping procedures, policies and practices. Consistently working in a safe manner with regard to self, co-workers and manufacturing systems. 

Supporting safety, quality and continuous improvement initiatives.

Teamwork: Assisting and supporting other team members in meeting department and site goals. Participating and sharing in performing all tasks necessary to run the facility. Contributing and participating in team decision making. Providing support in project work and other special requests. 

Perform all other functions, as necessary.

Qualifications

Essential: 

Previous manufacturing experience preferred. 

You will regard safety as a core value; serving as role model for other employees and encouraging adherence to safety practices, policies and procedures.

You will need to have a strong service and quality focus; addressing issues effectively when problems arise and taking initiative to understand root cause, then communicating / educating the team in a timely manner. 

You will need be able and willing to work overtime, including short-notice requests.

You will be required show proficiency with computer applications.

 Required:

High school diploma or equivalent (GED) or 3+ years of relevant manufacturing work experience required.
